Yes Genetics plays a Very Important Role in Heart Disease, particularly Ischaemic Heart Disease. If you are a man take Yearly Check Ups after 40 Years. If you are a woman, after Menopause. Fertile women normally do not have ischaemic heart diseases. But they could have Valvular defects. Other Risk Factors are:

      UNAVOIDABLE RISK FACTORS:
      1. Genetics/ Hereditary
      2. Gender: Male or Female

      AVOIDABLE RISK FACTORS:
      1. Smoking - Biggest Cause.
      2. Diabetes
      3. Hypertension/ High Blood Pressure
      4. Cholesterol: Food Habits
      5. Sedentary Life Style : Lack of Exercise
      6. Type A Personality: Stress Level
      7. Excessive Alcohol: New Reseach: By Increasing Blood Pressure (3) above or Cholestrol (4) above.
