Is it possible to completely eliminate chance of heart disease?
October 11th, 2009 | by admin |Dylan asked:
Is there a way to completely, 100% prevent heart disease? Or is there a way that just hasn’t been found yet? Or is it impossible by nature?
Thanks for the answers! I find it curious, though, that heart disease is only present in developed countries. It is a “Western disease”, and hasn’t been around for all that long. I don’t know exactly how long, but if you go a certain amount of years back in history there was no such thing as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

the process of cardiovascular disease is quite complicated. It is the the inital process that is the unknown step believe it or not, the others are quite well understood. The first step is an injury to the wall of the an artery, what causes this injury is not known.
that sort of answers your question really, if we dont know what is causing this inital injury we cant prevent it from happening in the first place, and even when we find out there is no gaurantee we might be able to prevent it though. sounds morbid, but it might be better to consider this in context.
heard disease is perpetuated by cholesterol, and the more you have the quicker the process happens. therefore even if you have the initial injury to the vessell say, if you control your cholesterol, and exercise and just stay healthy, you shouldnt develop heart disease.
although the process may be occuring it will not manifest itself in anyway shape or form. this is the worst case sceanrio.
just staying healthy should help you stear clear of heart disease alone, as people who have even had heart attacks can significantly improve their prognosis and often live long lives by doing moderate exercise every week and enjoying a good diet
